"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged on how its animals are treated" - Gandhi

TRAINING:

I think of training as increasing communication skills with your dog. The dogs that are listening are the dogs that are learning. Be sure and ask your dog for certain behaviors. How many times have you seen someone shout at their dog to come? Yeah, that really works! If what you have to offer (a treat or sending your dog away when he comes) is something enjoyable, then you have a motivated dog formula.

While anyone can tell a dog what not to do, I say teach your dog an alternative behavior that will be rewarded. If there is a goodie involved, which behavior do you think your dog will want to practice? Rewards aren’t always food and can be numerous pleasures, from a toy to voice praise.

I will come to your house and work one on one with you and your family. It is important to see all the elements involved when you are teaching new behaviors. The focus can be on basic manners or behavioral issues. Puppies can be taught as young as eight weeks!
